Vanburn Holder and Alan Richardson are two of the leading seam-bowlers in Worcestershire’s history.
They never played together, of course, Holder’s 586 first-class wickets at 23.08 apiece for the county coming between 1968 and 1980 and Richardson’s 254 at 22.07 arriving between 2010 and 2013.
But there was one occasion on which they dovetailed very nicely at New Road…and it did for Andrew Strauss!
April 2010. Middlesex were the visitors for the opening County Championship match of the season and Richardson made his Worcestershire debut, against the club he had just left.
