Tom Taylor has saluted the collective strength of Worcestershire’s team after his five for 56 powered them to an innings victory over Kent well inside three days.
The Pears required just eight sessions to polish off a Kent side to which they were superior in all respects. Victory was sealed with the last ball before tea on the third day as Brett D'Oliveira's team followed up their excellent win over Middlesex at Lord's with another strong all-round display. Encouragingly, it was a performance to which many players made a telling contribution.
“Everybody in the team contributing is a massive strength of ours,” Taylor said. “Even in the first game at Derby where we didn’t start well, we showed that character to come away with a draw even though we didn’t play our best cricket. That gave us momentum to take down to Lord’s, and we have played some really good cricket in the last two games. Now let’s try to take this form into the game at Northants this week.”
